Today’s smoothie cup to combat the holiday cookies!

All the ‘holiday cookies’  I’ve eaten over the past few days inspired me to add some kale to our morning smoothie – in hopes that it will counteract the sweets for today and for all the other goodies I will be forced to indulge in over the next two weeks! ha! Somehow in my mind I’ve convinced myself it is ok to have those chocolate peppermint cookies as long as I add extra greens in somewhere else. Right? So whether that’s correct or not I’m going with it!

This morning’s smoothie cup was dairy free and organic:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup frozen  blueberries
  • 4 frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen chopped kale
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon flax oil
  • splash of oj
  • enriched rice milk

Everyone was asking for seconds and thirds so I consider it a successful way to add ( and hide) the Holiday Greens!

….and make it ok to eat some of those festive baked goods…sort of…
