A Purple Green Smoothie

This is what my daughters, my hubby and I have been enjoying this week as part of our breakfast. It’s an easy smoothie recipe with fruit and spinach! Perfect way to sneak in those greens. My 4 year old thinks it’s funny that we are adding “salad” to our smoothies – but she likes it and I’ll take that any day!

 Wash, chop and blend together the following ingredients:

  • fresh chopped pineapple
  • banana ( can use frozen bananas if you like your smoothies colder)
  • blueberries
  • baby spinach
  • tiny bit of orange juice
  • enriched rice milk ( or milk alternative of your choice)
  • 1 tsp flax seed oil 
  • 1 tsp flax meal
Some benefits of this purple beauty include:
 Bromelain to help with digestion, calcium, vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin A , folate, iron, omega 3, 6 and 9 oils and anti oxidants
Remember smoothies are wonderful for breakfast but they are also a great snack for when you need a boost of energy later in the day. Personally I look for any excuse to drink a smoothie cause they are just so darn yummy!
